Our Branch is fortunate to have Erskine College as a corporate partner. We encourage Erskine undergraduate students to sign up for AAUW’s free e-membership available to students of College/University partners.

Erskine College Exam Bag Project

This is an annual event for December. In partnership with Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, members and students assemble and sell bags of goodies and comfort food delivered to students just before fall term exams. Most of the funds raised are used to support AAUW’s Educational Foundation, which provides grants and fellowships to women in education. A portion of the funds support Erskine’s Beta Beta Beta students presenting papers at scientific meetings.

High School and College Student Recognition Programs

Each year selected outstanding young women who are seniors in area high schools and students in Erskine College are honored for academic scholarship at a dinner. A distinguished female speaker addresses the honorees who each receive a Certificate of Recognition. This program was initiated in 1959 and has been held every year since, usually in March. Exam Bag proceeds help to fund the program.

We congratulate senior women college graduates with notes inviting them to accept a free one year membership in AAUW. Top freshmen students in each of Erskine’s academic majors are recognized each spring with Certificates of Achievement.
